A Worldwide Initiative by RomoGIS
Welcome to GIS4Good
At RomoGIS, we are driven by a deep commitment to using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as a powerful tool for social change and sustained community development. We believe in the transformative potential of GIS to create more sustainable and equitable communities worldwide. Our GIS4Good initiative is aimed at developing leaders across the industry who are committed to making an impact on social issues. As pioneers in the space, we are committed to developing cutting-edge technology and empowering people to spark change, one community at a time.
Using Technology for Social Change
RomoGIS is a dynamic data, design and research collaborative dedicated to enhancing the public good through targeted advocacy, research and direct community engagement. Our team specializes in creating geospatial applications that provide location-based analytics and inform community engaged research projects.
RomoGIS was founded to empower people with the technology, tools and tactics to improve their local communities. Founder Frank Romo's background as an urban planner, community organizer, and educator has allowed him to develop curriculum and products specifically tailored towards community empowerment and social justice.
Our GIS for Social Good initiative embodies RomoGIS' commitment to using geospatial technologies to advance diversity, equity, and community impact in communities around the world. Our initiative focuses on developing geospatial platforms that enhance community development, safety and quality of life for all individuals.
Our past clients include non-profit organizations in Detroit, Michigan, research organizations in Los Angeles, California and international non-governmental organizations in India and France. Regardless of location, in each of these projects we worked to empower people with the technical and organizational skills to advocate for greater equity and improve quality of life in their communities.
